PARIS, July 25 () -- The French socialist government on Wednesday detailed an auto sector rescue package that emphasized producing environmentally-friendly vehicles to shake up the sluggish automotives industry and improve competitiveness."The auto-industry support plan brings a new industrial strategy that will allow the revival of auto manufacturing in France," Industrial Recovery Minister Arnaud Montebourg said."The government wants to help in promoting clean vehicles and to make them available for every budget," he addedThe French government has pledged a 2,000-euro (2,427 U.S. dollars) rise in rebate for electric vehicles, bringing the total figure to 7,000 euros. For hybrid cars, the rebate will be doubled to 4,000 euros.The bonus-claims premium related to polluting thermal units will be increased from 40 to 100 percent, representing a cost of 150 million euros a year for the government, with claims premium expected to rise from 2013 to offset higher rebates for low-emission vehicles, according to the minister.Montebourg also denounced "unfair competition" from South Korean automakers that have increased their market share in Europe after signing a free trade accord with the European Union in 2010."We are entitled to request the initiation of control measures that will enable us eventually to trigger a backup measure," he said.The socialist government prepared an "offensive" and "ambitious" auto-industry support plan after leading French carmaker PSA announced major layoffs to compensate for high losses.Earlier, the company said it will be implementing a 1.5-billion-euro cost reduction plan by 2015 after reporting a net loss of 819 million euros in the first half of the year compared to a net profit of 806 million euros in the same period last year. JAKARTA, July 2 () -- Indonesian president Bambang Yudhoyono said on Monday that governments of the two countries were scheduled to discuss the terms of Australia's transport plane grant for Indonesia in the president's upcoming visit to Australia."There will be discussions between Indonesian and Australian defense ministers related to the plan of five C 130 Hercules planes grant to Indonesia and how much the cost that should be spent by Indonesia related to the grant," the president said before departing for an official visit until July 4.The discussion over the plan was one of the president's agendas in the visit program.The president said that Indonesia needs to use such planes as government has grounded all Fokker 27 military plane following the recent crash that killed 10 air forces servicemen and civilians.He said that even though Indonesia has designated CN 295 planes to replace the aging Fokker 27 military transport planes, Indonesia still intends to rebuild its C 130 fleet. He said that Indonesia has plans to upgrade the airworthiness of the plane.Part of Indonesian C 130 Hercules planes now undertake overhauling process in the United States under a military cooperation between the two countries.
